FAQs and Guidelines
Q: Do you accept group submissions?
A: No. Submissions should be submitted by one participant. Uless, you connect with the organizer by email first to discuss opportunities and guidelines.
Q: Can I have a submission for each project area?
A: No, we ask that you choose 1 project area.
Q. Will I get a participation certificate?
A. Yes, we will generate participation certificates for submissions that meet the guidelines and your name will appear just as it does in your registration.
Q. When will the winners be announced?
A. Winners will be announced on May 1, 2026
Q: How is the contest judged?
A: The competition will be judged by our international panel of judges. Judging will be done online via Google Drive. Each judge will receive a randomly selected number of submissions for each age group with the entrant’s name removed. When all votes have been submitted, the highest scores will be selected for the top 3. The other 7 will be the semi-finalists. Any discrepancies will be decided by the Judging Team.
Q: What criteria will be used to select the winning projects?
A: Judging will be based on a sliding scale of 1-10 (1 indicating needs improvement to 10 indicating exceptional) based on relevance, development, creativity, impact, and originality.
Q: Who are the Judges?
A: The international panel of judges will be selected and showcased on the official website.
1. Eligibility:
Youth ages 10-24 are eligible. In
order to enter the competition, participants agree to the
Official Rules. The Rules consist of the terms and
conditions on this page and the Entry Form.

Competition Period:
The competition begins on January
5th, 2026, and ends at midnight (GMT) on · April 5th, 2026
3. How to Enter:
Entrants will use the link
for the submission form on the official UNESCOUSA.org
website which will take them to our partner
WorldGenesis.org. Participants will fill out the 1-page
submission form. Participants will receive a number that
will connect them to communications, certificates and
their project.
5. Judging and Selection of
Winners:
Entrees will be judged by our international
panel of judges. Judging will be done online in two parts.
Judges will receive an equal number of entries – randomly
chosen – in each age category. Once the top 10 have been
decided in each age category, the top 3 scores will be
selected. The other 7 will be semi-finalists. Judging will
be based on a sliding scale 1-10 (1 as lowest and 10 the
highest) based on the criteria of relevance, creativity
and originality, development, and impact.

Winners:
Will be announced on May 1st, 2026:
There
will be 3 top winners in each category with honorable
mentions when applicable. Winners will receive a
certificate through email to be printed. They will have an
invitation with scholarship to the IMUN Summer camp 2027.
Percentage of scholarships is based on 1, 2, 3 place
winners, and will be contacted by the organizer. When
attending the summer camp winners will receive a plague
and recognition in an official ceremony. Winners of the
storytelling project area will receive a copy of Gaia’s
Game Book. Participants will receive a participation
certificate with their name as it is in their registration
form.
7. Privacy Notice:
Any personal data
collected during the course of the competition will only
be used and disclosed for purposes reasonably connected
with administering and promoting this competition,
including certain internal and external communications
related to the multimedia competition. We may also share
personal data of the overall winner and the finalists with
the press for publicity purposes. Subject to parental
consent (if required), the overall winner and the
finalists may be asked to participate in the summer camps,
in publicity such as press interviews or other promotions.
8. No Recourse to judicial or other procedures:
To
the extent permitted by law, the rights to litigate, to
seek injunctive relief or to any other recourse to
judicial or any other procedure in case of disputes or
claims resulting from or in connection with this
Competition are hereby excluded, and you acknowledge and
agree, and expressly waive any and all such rights.

Each participant needs to choose 1 of the 17 sustainable
goals.
- Your work must be original.
AI POLICY All participants are allowed to use A.I for
the following reasons
- Search for information but
ensure to check sources cited by A.I
- Compile
Research
- Brainstorm ideas and optimize, not create,
with A.I
Please do not do your
whole project with A.I. If a submission is generated, it
will not be accepted.
- All participants need to fill
out the Submission Form.
- Videos must be 3 minutes
maximum 2 minutes minimum
- All presentations and
essays with images need to be sent in PDF format.
- 1
entry per person
- Artwork needs to also have a
50-word explanation that is relevant to the question.
- Agree to the terms and conditions of the contest.
